About Us

Welcome to Bainbridge C of E Primary and Nursery School

On behalf of all the staff, children, parents and governors I would like to warmly welcome you to Bainbridge C of E Primary and Nursery School’s website.

Ours is a happy, busy and friendly church school situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We are proud to be a church school and our strong Christian ethos underpins the life of the school and is the basis of our excellent relationships with our parents, community, and churches. Our school is part of a three-way federation with Askrigg and West Burton Schools, striving together for 'Mid-Dale Excellence in Education'.  We have high aspirations for all our children, and we work actively with our parents and community to ensure that we provide the best educational experiences for our children. We currently work very closely with Askrigg as we have combined our resources to teach all EYFS (early Years Foundation Stage) and KS1 children here at Bainbridge and all KS2 children at Askrigg.

We hope you enjoy visiting our website and please feel free to contact us if you would like further information.

We are very proud of our latest Ofsted inspection at Askrigg! Please click here to read the report (in the form of a letter) and here to read a letter from Di Clegg, our Chair of Governors.

We are very proud to announce that Bainbridge C of E Primary School  has been judged as an ‘outstanding’ church school in our recent SIAMS inspection (February 2015). Please click here to read our inspection report.

Partnership Working

We are a member of the Swaledale Alliance, a school partnership of 60 primary schools and 1 secondary school based across North Yorkshire. The Alliance was established in September 2012 and in March 2013 received Teaching School status as a cohort 3 teaching school. As a member school, we work with other schools in the Alliance, sharing good practice and professional development opportunities to improve outcomes for all our pupils.
